PHD is having a board meeting on Thursday with Mask Mandates back on the agenda
PHD is meeting this Thursday, 11/19/2020 at 12:30PM. Mask Mandates are back on the agenda.
We are asking everyone who is against this kind of bullying and tyranny from our local health district to contact them and urge them NOT to pass a mask mandate.
We need EVERYONE to send emails to [email protected] by 5:00PM today, Wednesday 11/18/2020, with your comments. All of the board members will have to read your comments for consideration.
We need you to help us in this continued fight. They are not giving up, so we cannot give up. We must be more determined and tenacious than our opponents if we are to have any chance of success.
PHD Issues (Pretend) Mask Ordinance for Entire District
The PHD Health Board voted to issue a mandatory Mask Mandate for the entire health district, comprising of all 5 counties in the district.
Those who voted IN FAVOR OF the mask mandate:
- Jai Nelson - Kootenai County
- Marlow Thompson - Benewah County
- Mike Fitzgerald - Shoshone County
- Richard McLandress - Kootenai County
Those who voted AGAINST the mask mandate:
- Glenn Bailey - Bonner County
- Allen Banks - Bonner County
Walt Kirby of Boundary County recused himself and abstained from voting.
Jai Nelson, with the PHD, stated during the meeting that that they are "REQUIRED to do all things for the preservation and protection of the public health". She is quoting directly (with the exception of the word "required") from Idaho 39-414(2).
THIS IS THE SECTION THAT WE NEED TO GET CHANGED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO STOP THIS MADNESS FROM OUR HEALTH DISTRICTS!!!!!!
This is a power that is said to have been delegated to the Health Districts by the legislature of Idaho, but the legislature does not have the power or authority to give ANY un-elected bureau unlimited powers to "do all things for the preservation and protection of the public health".
