The prayers and team action for Greg is working. From Brittany: I just talked to the doctor. Dad was able to stay on his back, and is still currently on his back. That is progress! Oxygen level at 90%. Pressure still at 18, but o2 sats are staying in the 90s. Gas-test was also in the 90s, which is good! He still has higher levels of CO2 so they have increased the rate to 35, to continue to work that out of his body. Kidneys are still hanging in there, but he has roughly a 50% chance of ending up on kidney dialysis. A test came back positive for bacteria in his lungs, but they started treating that 5 days ago, so that is good. They plan on taking him off the paralyzing medication tomorrow, (as long as he doesn’t fight the vent) and they expect to see more improvement then, and faster healing. (Those meds tend to be harder on the body.) They will also be giving him a diuretic to flush some of the extra fluids out, which could possibly help his lung function more as well. The doctor said yesterday was small improvement, and today has brought even more improvement. Two good days in a row! However he made sure to explain that this sickness is very up and down, so we need to continue to be praying hard for more good days than bad. ”
